- 1942
Founded as a Higher Technical School, following a decree issued on 6 June 1941 by the Bulgarian Tsar Boris III.
- 1945
Transformed into a State Polytechnic.
- 1953
The Polytechnic is divided into several institutes, one of them being the Institute of Civil Engineering.
- 1977
Renamed the Higher Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (HIACE).
- 1990
Renamed University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) by decision of its General Assembly.
- 1995
Official accreditation voted by the Parliament on 21 July 1995; institutional accreditation received on 15 November 2001.
